Job summary
- The candidate will be responsible for teaching students in the preschool or primary education sector. They should be able to create a classroom climate conducive to learning in order to teach them the basics of the subject to be taught.
General responsibilities
- Prepare the material to be taught and present it to students while respecting the training program of the Quebec school (PFEQ) as well as the progression of learning (PDA);
- Teach students using a methodical plan that includes lessons, discussions, audiovisual presentations and field trips;
- Guide students in activities aimed at promoting their physical, mental and social development and school readiness;
- Revise the lesson plan and develop different approaches to retain students’ attention and allow them to better understand the material being taught;
- Ensure the good cognitive and social development of the students in their charge;
- Work in collaboration with other members of the school team (such as specialist educators, psychologists, psycho educators and speech therapists);
- Identify the learning needs of each child;
- Prepare and implement remedial programs for children who need more supervision.
